What Customers Say About Sound of Silver:

at should arrive before cristmas and arrived in february. the cd didn't came with the case and the album. the case that came with, says that the cd was a gift from the newspaper. i dind't refuse it, because would take my precious time. that seller should be burn out of the site.

Dance-punk is generally not my forte, but SOUND OF SILVER blows everything else in that genre out of the water. Murphy's music stems from the awesome tradition of art rock legends David Bowie and David Byrne as well as other krautrock and disco influences. Just as layered with percussion and synth lines as Talking Heads' masterpiece Remain in Light, SOUND OF SILVER is a must-hear for fans of that album's danceable and dense sound. GRADE: A (97%)

Aside from "North American Scum," the beats are boring and repetitive, and the rhymes are nothing special. "North American Scum" is a five-star song, but "Sound of Silver" is a two-star album.

What an infectious dance album LCD Soundsystem (aka James Murphy) has made. Fresh, cool, and solid through and through. It definitely gets your hipster arts and crafts party started any day of the week.Get Innocuous. 10/10 a tidal wave of electro blissTime to Get Away 10/10 Thumping-shake-your-ass-kind-of-songNorth American Scum 9/10 Oh where to begin.Someone Great 10/10 Exquisitely beautifulAll My Friends 11/10 very "New Order-ish" and an easy standout among the restUs vs Them 10/10 Funky (like how that chick from 'Ghost World' says it.Watch the Tapes 10/10 a short and sweeet goodySound of Silver 9/10 head bobbin'-shoulder-poppin' awesomenessNew York, I love you but you're bringing me down 10/10 wonderful cabaret-style ending

DFA's very own LCD Soundsystem more than deliver the goods on their follow up to their earth shaking debut. Deftly proving to be masters of their own domain, they have one upped themselves. "Someone Great" is an instant dance classic that infuses suffocating bass pulses, glittering melodies, and twisted sonic whines into a sentimental chorus line that absolutely smokes everything else on the album.

With a "take no prisoners" attitude, "Get Innocuous" blasts you from all sides with a barrage of fluttering disco synths, pulsating, deep dance rhythms, and blasts of lasers, there is nowhere to hide or run. The rest of the album surges from shifting introspection to outlandish radiant, experimental avant-dance noise on "Sound of Silver". Armed with plenty of urban hipster attitude, wit, and a sense of style, do you have your guns ready.

Good luck getting it out of your head. If you haven't realized that James Murphy is one cool dude who can boast Art-Rock attitude and "walk the walk" you will soon. "North American Scum" is a strutting piece that parades the notion of American pride with a touch of irony.

Kudos to Murphy for keeping it interesting because nothing on this album gets slow or boring. Who is the sucker now.
